As he was lamenting thus I took a look. Sure enough it did look like he had a few less hairs in places. I told him, half convincingly, it wasn’t anything to worry about. It was a natural process and would soon stop.

Anyway, I said: “You’re still attractive and hair or no hair you’ll still get all the girls you want.”  
 

I must admit I thought he was over-reacting so I left him to his ‘misery’ and went back to what I was doing.

Later that day I got to thinking about Peter’s behavior in the morning. I wondered how I’d react if the tables were turned and it was me who thought I was going bald. What would I do in that case?

Later that night after six or seven hours glued to the computer, what I’d uncovered was interesting. I’d made page after page of notes. And had many possible answers to Peter’s problem... and I’d discovered that, unknown to me, many ladies had similar problems with hair loss.

One thing was perfectly clear though, some types of hair loss will result in baldness and there is nothing one can do about it save for surgical intervention. However, I had a list as long as my arm of famous and not so famous people who’d not let baldness stand in their way. Many, in fact, owed their success to their baldness!
